Choosing an implant is an important step, but it is clear how necessary it is when you consider how much it will improve your health and quality of life.

Tooth loss can occur for different reasons. Perhaps the tooth was displaced by the impact or severely damaged to require an extraction. Regardless of the underlying cause, lost teeth can lead to other oral health problems if left untreated.

Dental implants are a simple, effective and permanent solution to the problem of missing and missing teeth. It is far superior to other options such as traditional dentures or bridges. It can prevent most long-term dental problems as a result of tooth loss in the jaw, including loss of bone density.

When making dental implants, you need to make sure that you choose the best in terms of quality and effectiveness of the materials used. It is very important that your implants do not cause problems in the later process.

We at Tekirdag dental implant clinic are committed to giving our patients the best possible results in everything we do, and that means using the best dental implant materials available. For this reason, we are sensitive to choose the best in our clinic.

Before we get into the details of why material and design are so important in dental implants, let’s review how tooth replacement is done and the types of implants to suit different needs.

How Do Dental Implants Work?

Teeth cover much more than what you see when you smile. There is a long root on the tooth that extends deep into the jawbone to hold the tooth firmly in place and strong enough to withstand a lifetime of chewing and biting. When a tooth comes out due to factors such as caries, the absence of the tooth creates a gap between the other teeth in the mouth. Therefore, all teeth begin to slip out of place to fill this gap.

Solutions such as bridges and dentures are effective in changing the visible upper part of the tooth, providing improvements in your smile as well as your eating, drinking and speaking skills. Bridges and dentures can replace more than one tooth, but none of these types of treatments deal with the underlying problems.

Over time, the absence of tooth root or teeth in the jaw causes a decrease in bone density. As bone density loses, it weakens and becomes more prone to other long-term health problems. The method used to attach bridges to teeth or the adhesives used to hold dentures in place are not as strong or durable as the natural root of the tooth.

It prevents bone density loss as the implant itself mimics the shape and structure of a natural tooth and is embedded directly into the jaw, replacing the missing tooth and the entire root. The base of the implant is known as the post. It bears some resemblance to a metal screw and is made of a special material that is firmly connected to the organic bone in the jaw. The metal base of the implant is then sealed with an artificial tooth customized to match the color and shape of the patient’s natural teeth, resulting in a replacement tooth that is virtually indistinguishable from other teeth in the mouth.

Implant supported bridges can be recommended as the optimum solution for more than one lost tooth in a single area of the mouth. These are usually made in the form of a bridge consisting of two or more dental implants placed in the jaw, artificial teeth mounted in the jaw to fill the gap of missing teeth.

Ninova Dental Clinic Florya, Haftanın 7 günü, tüm ağız ve diş sağlığı branşlarında modern ve kaliteli hizmet vermektedir.

It is a bleaching process using Hydrogen Peroxide or its derivatives. The substances used release oxygen (0). With the separation of oxygen, the color of the tooth also lightens. This process; It enables people with yellow, brown or gray colored teeth to have whiter teeth.

Whitening should be applied to patients with good oral hygiene and healthy teeth and gums. There is no rule that teeth whitening systems, which are a cosmetic product, are suitable for every patient.

Today, there are many types of teeth whitening methods, which can be applied by the patients themselves or applied to the patients by the physician.

The dentist should always decide which type of teeth whitening method is suitable for the patient.

Whitening Toothpastes

Thanks to the abrasive substances in the stains on the teeth, they ensure the removal of the stains on the teeth. Since these pastes do not contain hydrogen peroxide, which is a whitening agent, they do not penetrate into the deep layers of the teeth and can only remove superficial stains. These whitening toothpastes can lighten the color of the teeth up to 1 tone. However, in the office-type bleaching technique applied by the physician, the color of the tooth can be whitened up to 8 tons.

Whitening Gels and Tapes

Whitening gels are peroxide-based transparent gels that are applied to the surface of the teeth by the patient with the help of small brushes. They are usually applied 2 times a day for 14 days. Whitening strips, on the other hand, are invisible transparent bands coated with peroxide-based gel and are applied by the patient by sticking them on the teeth. In both types of whitening systems, instant whitening results are obtained in the first few days and after 4 months, final whitening results are obtained. However, these methods are not recommended to patients because they are not performed under the control of a physician and the contents of the bleaching agents used are beyond the knowledge of the physician.

Home Type Teeth Whitening Systems

These are dentist-assisted whitening systems. The physician prepares a personal mouth plate suitable for the patient on the model obtained from the measurement taken from the patient. The patient applies it into these plates for a few hours a day for about 4 weeks, according to the percentage of peroxide supplied by the physician. The duration of this application depends on the color and density of the stains, the opening tone of the teeth and the sensitivity that may occur in the teeth.

Office Type Whitening Systems

It is the fastest and most effective teeth whitening system. In this method, the whitening product is applied directly on the teeth. The dentist applies protective gel or covers the gums with rubber to protect the gums and soft tissues from the effects of the whitening agent. These products are used in combination with special types of light or laser. The result is obtained immediately after the first 30-60 minutes of application. If heat or light is not applied on the bleaching agent, the bleaching process is applied several times until the desired result is obtained.

What are the Differences between Home Type and Office Type Bleaching Systems?

Lower strength agents are used in home bleaching products. These are gels containing carbamide peroxide with percentages ranging from 10% to 22%, which have almost the same potency as gel with a 3% hydrogen peroxide concentration. However, in the teeth whitening products applied professionally by the physician in the office, gels with a hydrogen peroxide concentration of 15% to 43% are applied, and as a result, very fast and effective results are obtained in office type whitening systems. In home bleaching systems, individual plaques suitable for the patient are used for gel application in the bleaching process. The patient puts the whitening gel in this plaque and then applies it to his mouth. Although in personal plaques, there is leakage from the edge of these plaques to the gums and soft tissues, where irritation and burning may occur. However, in office-type applications, the dentist provides complete protection to the gums and soft tissues, and this is a very important difference. There is a small cost difference between the whitening methods applied by the patient and applied in the office. However, in office type whitening systems, optimum results are obtained in terms of patient’s health and whitening effect.

The reason for the discoloration and darkening of the teeth must be known, and accordingly, it should be decided whether the patient is suitable for teeth whitening, and if appropriate, the appropriate whitening system and material should be selected and provided by the dentist.

In physician-assisted bleaching systems, the patient and the physician must be in contact. The physician should check the stabilization of the compatibility of the plate with the patient’s mouth.

What are the Points to Be Considered After the Bleaching Process?

Extreme cold or heat should be avoided for the first few days. After the procedure, each patient has a diet list to follow. Any coloring food or drink is prohibited. Especially the first 3 days.

k is sensitive, but ideally 7-10 days should be observed.

Products containing dark colors such as cigarettes, tea, coffee, chocolate, red wine, cherry, caramel, tomato paste should not be used for 1 week after the end of the process. Otherwise, the resulting whiteness will return.

To Whom Whitening Procedures Are Not Applied?

Teeth whitening is not applied to patients younger than 16 years old. In patients at this age, the pulp chamber and the nerves of the tooth are in their largest dimensions. If bleaching is applied, the pulp becomes irritated, hypersensitivity occurs and results that reach root canal treatment may occur.

Whitening should not be applied to pregnant women, patients with hypersensitive teeth and receding gums due to gum disease, and patients who are allergic to the bleaching agent peroxide.

The most common dental diseases in the world are the possibility of transmission of gum diseases and caries from person to person. In this case, parents want to make sure that the necessary sterilization and disinfection is provided in the dental clinics they take their children to and that their children will not be infected.

Here are the issues that parents should pay attention to in dentists:

1) Do your dentist and assistants use personal protective barriers such as gowns, gloves, masks, glasses?

2) Are surfaces disinfected or protective covers changed after each patient?

3) Is the sterilizing device used autoclave?

4) Does your dentist perform “preventive dentistry” practices for your child? Does it provide oral and dental health education to your child?

Implants are artificial tooth roots made of titanium and placed in the jawbone in order to eliminate single or multiple tooth deficiency.

In implant treatment, a titanium screw is placed in the jawbone without any procedure to the healthy teeth located next to the missing tooth. Since the titanium screwing system is desired to be fully integrated with the jawbone, the waiting period for the insertion of the prosthetic tooth varies between 3 and 6 months, depending on the surgical procedures applied. Surgical processes such as cleaning the cyst located in the jawbone, sinus lifting (sinus cavity filling operation) can prolong the time of placing the implant and installing the prosthetic tooth.

If the maxillary sinuses have sagged over time, the bone structure has deteriorated and the volume has been lost, “sinus lifting” operation should be applied before the implant. The purpose of the operation is to create space for the titanium screw in the area where the implant treatment will be applied. Sinus lifting operation is the process of filling the cavities with bone powder by lifting the sinus membrane up after local or general anesthesia is applied to the patient. After the procedure, the cavities are expected to ossify and reach a sufficient width-height for the implant. In cases where the bone structure in the area under the sinuses has not suffered much loss, it may not be waited for a long time to place the implant.

The advantage of implant treatment over bridge treatment is that the teeth are more durable and long lasting. Since the bone structure in the body continues to change, the prosthetic teeth applied by making a bridge may begin to move, wobble and behave incompatible with other teeth over time. The quality and width of the bone in the area where the prosthesis will be made are also effective in the implant decision.

Permanence of prosthetic teeth supported by implants is similar to natural teeth as long as proper care is provided. Prosthetic teeth fixed with titanium screws; They are teeth that are used for a lifetime if no smoking, complete oral and dental health care, and routine dentist examinations are not interrupted.

Anyone who does not have any health problems other than the problem of missing teeth and who is over the age of 18 can have an implant. Those with diabetes, hypertension and heart disease should definitely get the opinion of their physician and share it with the dentist before implant treatment. It is risky for those with blood clotting problems to have implants.

Ninova Dental Clinic Florya, Haftanın 7 günü, tüm ağız ve diş sağlığı branşlarında modern ve kaliteli hizmet vermektedir.

As Dalyan Oral and Dental Health Polyclinic, we see that more and more patients are doing research on dental implants to replace their missing teeth, and we wanted to make a statement about one of the most frequently asked questions, whether anyone can have a dental implant.

In general, any adult who has lost a tooth can be considered a possible candidate for a dental implant, but whether this is a viable option depends on a number of factors.

Dental implants are not for everyone, so we ask patients to attend an initial consultation so their case can be evaluated and we can make a decision. A thorough examination, review of medical history, and x-rays are required to check suitability. It also gives patients a chance to voice their concerns and answer any questions before deciding whether to continue. We take candidate eligibility very seriously, because implants can make all the difference in success.

Oral surgery is required for the placement of dental implants, and as with all types of surgery, there are also those who are not suitable for surgery. To be considered suitable for dental implants, a patient must have:

Sufficient Jaw Bone

Because a dental implant must fuse with the bone in the jaw, it is essential to have a healthy bone source in that area. Failure to bond with the jaw in a process known as osseointegration is one of the main causes of implant failure. If a patient does not have enough bone, it may be possible to perform a bone graft before surgery. If you have lost a tooth, it should be started as soon as possible, as the jawbone gradually begins to deteriorate after tooth loss.

Good General Health

Being healthy allows your surgeon to overcome the complications or risks associated with implant surgery as well as treatment. If you have a chronic illness such as diabetes or leukemia and have had radiation therapy to the jaw or neck area, you may not be eligible. Since smoking is known to affect the healing process, smokers may also be asked to stop smoking a few weeks before surgery and during the recovery period.

Although dental implants are like ordinary teeth, they are much more special and successful than later applications such as bridges and prostheses. After the implant is made, it can be used for a lifetime if well cared for. However, the important point here is that you should brush your implants like your own teeth. Implant treatment is currently one of the last points that can be reached in dentistry. Naturally, the more successful you can do this process, the better it will be for you.

You should not forget that you will not have a second option after your teeth are implanted. Leaving behind the mistakes you have made in the past will ensure that your other teeth remain healthy.

If you want to learn more about dental implants and find out if they are suitable for you, you can contact us at our phone numbers on our site and make an appointment for your treatment.

Implant treatment has always been the right choice, but the most important point to consider is choosing the right center.

Dental implants are oral prostheses that replace teeth that have been removed, extracted or damaged beyond repair. Implants replace both roots and teeth to return a person’s smile to healthy, normal function. Metal, screw-like posts made of titanium replace the roots and are fused to the jawbone to form a solid foundation for artificial teeth or crowns.

Dental Implants

Missing or decayed teeth can pose a serious risk not only to your oral health but also to your overall health. An incomplete tooth can affect jaw alignment and function, affecting the way you chew, bite, speak and breathe. Misaligned or misaligned teeth in your mouth can put additional strain on your neck and jaw muscles, causing headaches, facial pain, and broken teeth.

Dental cavities in the mouth can create an ideal space for bacteria, increasing your risk of mouth infection, as well as causing deterioration of the jawbone. When the jawbone shrinks and the gums recede, the teeth on both sides of the cavity weaken and become more susceptible to decay. The teeth surrounding the space can also slide into the space, resulting in crooked or improperly spaced teeth.

Missing teeth and poor oral health cause other general health problems such as heart disease, premature birth in women, and endocarditis, an infection of the inner lining of the heart.

When should the implant be made?

Implant application is required in the following cases.

If one or more teeth are missing,
If you have healthy oral tissue,
If you have an enlarged chin,
If you do not want to wear dentures,
If you want to correct your speech,

If you are having problems with these 5 items mentioned above, dental implants are an important and valid reason for preference for you.

Implant Surgery

Although implant treatment is an outpatient procedure, it is an extensive process that takes several months and takes long periods of time to heal. Although treatment times vary, the average implant process takes about six months.

Removal of damaged tooth or teeth

Bone grafting is necessary if your jawbone is too soft or not thick enough to support the implant. A bone graft strengthens the jawbone and promotes new bone growth, creating a better, more solid foundation for the implant.

Bone grafts can be natural, like any other bone in your body, or made of a material that will provide the strength and structural support your jaw needs. Your jaw will need a few months post-implantation for it to heal and enough new bone to grow to continue with the implants.

An incision is made in the gum to expose the bone into which the holes were drilled to insert the implant posts. The post is inserted into the bone, where it will act as a root. While there is still a gap at this point, you have the option of a temporary prosthesis that can be removed for cleaning and sleep.

Osseointegration, the process of attaching living bone to an artificial implant, begins when titanium is placed directly into the jaw. Over the next few months, your jawbone will begin to grow on the surface of the implant, fusing with the implant to form a good foundation for your artificial tooth or teeth, just like natural teeth and roots.

An abutment is a piece that is attached to the implant to support the crowns to be placed. Attaching the abutment requires a minor operation in which the implant is attached and the gingival tissue is resealed around the abutment, but not over it, so that it is still visible above the gumline.

Artificial teeth, also called crowns, are custom made to fit your mouth and match your natural teeth, but are not placed until the implant has stabilized and the gums and jaw have healed from previous procedures. Depending on your specific needs, your crowns can be fixed, removable, or a combination of both. Removable teeth are similar to dentures. It is mounted on a metal frame that fits into the implant abutment. Fixed teeth are permanently screwed into the implant abutment.
