What is Personal Implant Teeth?
The implant consists of two main parts. The first is a screw thread that is placed in the jawbone and imitates the root of the tooth. The second part is the upper part, which we call the abutment, which is screwed into the implant. Abutments are the superstructure parts of the implant, on which we make a crowned tooth by giving a worn tooth form.
In general, implant brands produce abutments in various diameters and lengths as standard. However, these various diameters and lengths cannot exactly imitate the gingival shape, which has different details for each person.
Personalized abutments are personalized implant abutments made of titanium to maximize the aesthetics designed with 3D special programs according to the angles of the implants, the patient’s gingival shape and relationship with the surrounding tissues, and the crown to be made.
Advantages
They provide a more aesthetic appearance as they are designed in accordance with the patient’s gingival shape and structure.
The coating produced according to the shape of the gum prevents the accumulation of unwanted substances such as food residues under the tooth and ensures easier cleaning of the teeth.
Since it is made according to the shape of the thread, it provides a balanced distribution of forces and extends the chance of success and life of the screw thread.
Disadvantages
Their cost is slightly higher than standard implants.
Scope of application
Individual implants can be applied to all patients who can have standard implants.
Surgical Stage
The surgical implant placement step is the same as for standard screw dental treatment. For details, you can review the implant treatment section. The main difference arises when veneer is applied on artificial teeth.
Prosthetic Stage
After measuring the implant or multiple implants, instead of trying to adapt a suitable fabricated abutment to the tooth cavity, a personalized abutment is made with the cad-cam system, taking into account all the characteristics of the area where the tooth cavity is located, according to the shape and thickness of the gingiva where the tooth cavity is located. .
The level of fusion of the implants with the bone is checked by taking X-rays.
Gum shapers are screwed into the implant by making small holes over the gingiva. In this process, the use of an implant detector makes it easier to determine the exact location of the implant, and it also allows taking measurements in the same session.
In cases where the gums are opened with an open surgical method and a gum shaper is placed, it can be waited for 4 to 5 days to take an impression.
According to the measurements taken in the first session, special abutment production for the person’s gingiva and mouth structure is carried out in the laboratory.
Personally prepared abutments are sent to the laboratory where the infrastructure is prepared and the infrastructure (metal, zirconium, etc.) is prepared in accordance with the abutments.
In the session after the measurement, a personalized abutment and infrastructure rehearsal is done. Measurements are taken for porcelain.
In the session after the infrastructure rehearsal, porcelain rehearsal is done.
If there is no problem in the porcelain rehearsal, the teeth are temporarily glued and used for a while.
If there is no problem in the use of prosthesis and veneer, permanent bonding is done. If there is a problem, necessary corrections are made.
Duration
The duration of the surgical phase in a personalized implant is the same as in standard implant treatment. The prosthesis stage is slightly longer than the standard prosthesis stage, as the titanium upper part is produced specifically for the person’s gingiva and tooth structure. The prosthesis phase is completed in 5 to 8 days, depending on the case.
